Primary Care Physician vs Psychiatrist Question

I have my daughter's doctor/therapy appointments for about 6-8 hours per week while also managing a large team of employees and taking care of all the household tasks by myself. Along with that, we've been going to the emergency room for extended hospital stays pretty regularly for the past month. I have been getting anxiety and depression hard for the past year and it increases basically daily.

I think I just want to go the psychiatry route instead of therapy because my time commitment to my daughter and work has me so close to the edge of needing to quit my job, there would be no time for therapy.

I tried reaching out to 6 psychiatry centers, and never heard back from any of them, so I set up an appointment with my primary care physician for next week to see if they can prescribe something that helps. My question is, has anyone ever just visited their regular doctor for medication to help manage anxiety and depression instead of a psychiatrist or therapist? I think that's my only option but I wanted to see if others did the same and if it's viable.

a regular doctor quite frankly is gonna be an idiot aside from doing just a regular checkup. you really should see a specialist when it comes to medical care. they have studied their field specifically and thats what they deal with daily. maybe the regular doc can refer you to someone who is available to help

remember suicide rates are far higher than homicides. specifically middled aged white males with access to guns are most at risk for suicide. so please don't take this lightly, go get help man

I have had some primary care physicians here that truly helped me with my anxiety and knew exactly what they were talking about but there are also some that do not know shit.. thats up to you to do the proper research to find one that is reputable...
