the idea behind fasting is to not feed your body nutrients during this time. the concept is hard to understand for many in our industry because we have been drilled into our heads that you need to 'feed the body' nonstop.
you won't lose muscle for 2 reasons. 1. fasting boosts hgh and 2. your body is programmed to not shed muscle during such a short famine.
also guys confuse water loss during a fast for muscle loss. the actual muscle tissue does not go away so you look more shredded and cut
electrolytes like salt and cream of tartar are okay during a fast if you need to balance electrolytes. there is also a product called ultima which is perfectly fine to take some with your water. but for just a 3 day fast you really only need good quality spring water that is it. also if at anytime you develop headaches, diarhea, throw up, etc. during your fast you must break it. fasting isn't about saying 'i'm gonna fast X days' .. a controlled fast is not the same thing as starvation. in a controlled fast you decide when to break your fast. my first prolong fast was supposed to be 5 days, i felt so good that i decided to keep it going and went to 10 days. so be flexible on both ends.
