weight training injuries

Newbie
have you ever experienced over use injuries from jerking the weights around? I was doing standing military presses and felt something go down my back so I stopped and it tightened up for a little bit. It got better so I finished my sets
but then after it got tight again. Any idea what is wrong?
 
Go slow and steady less injuries.
