I do not use soy for those reasons. It is not actual estrogen but a phytoestrogen. It does bind to estrogen receptors but is does not have quite the same effect, I mean to say that it is weaker. This will differ among individuals. Even most whey proteins have soy lecithin in them, but some have sunflower lecithin. Certain foods such as pinto beans can have anti-estrogenic effects to help counter this. I do believe that if you include a lot of soy in your diet it can be detrimental to your testosterone, it is not just a scare tatic as soy is also heavily genetically modified. This is where the term soy-boy comes from. Almost all processed foods including beef jerky and even some pre-cooked roast chickens have soy added. Seriously start checking labels, soy is in almost everything, and also look into the incidence of soy being introduced and its correlation to the decline of testosterone in males. Again I personally would not take it. Is there a reason you do not like whey or other protein powders?
